Breast Cancer Action Kingston is getting ready to mark more than three decades of community support with its 33rd annual Walk for Awareness happening on Saturday, September 19th at Lake Ontario Park.
The event brings together breast cancer survivors, families, friends and supporters for a day focused on raising awareness, remembering those lost to the disease and supporting people affected by breast cancer.
Organizers say the walk is about more than raising money. It is also an opportunity for the community to come together and show people facing breast cancer that they are not alone. Wendy Barrett says everyone is welcome.
Now in its 33rd year, the event remains an important fundraiser for Breast Cancer Action Kingston, helping the organization provide support and resources to people living with breast cancer and their families. Participants are encouraged to take part as individuals or as part of a team, with the walk offering an opportunity for people of all ages to get involved.
