What's good in Kingston? BBBS mentoring: filling the gap to leave no one behind

Here's how you can help

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Kingston Frontenac Lennox and Addington have responded to increasing demands for their services with a variety of mentoring programs designed to provide much needed services to those on longer wait-lists. Associate Director Kylie Filion explains how it works.

In their most recent annual report Big Brothers Big Sisters KFLA reported a 40% increase in services provided to over 700 children with the help of 120 volunteers. Kylie describes who's involved in the trauma focused mentoring programs.

Their success is clearly demonstrated in the fact that 95% of children surveyed said BBBS programs made them feel like they mattered. Kylie is convinced her organization's efforts are critical.

The focused mentorship programs are mainly run in BBBS KFLA offices at the BGC Southeast Centre at 1300 Bath Road and also at the Hughson Childcare Centre at 559 Bagot Street. You can learn more about these programs and how to support them at kingston.bigbrothersbigsisters.ca or on any of their social media pages.
