What's Good in Kingston: Turtle-themed Art Auction

More than 30 pieces by 36 local artists will be up for grabs in a three-day Facebook auction fundraiser.

An online auction of turtle-themed artwork is set to launch on Facebook this November.

The annual fundraiser will run from 6 a.m. on Nov. 6 until 7 p.m. on Nov. 8.

We hear more from organizer, Adrian Jacklin.

More than 30 original art pieces created by 36 local artists will be available to bid on. Profits will be shared equally between the artist and the host organization, with a minimum of $50 guaranteed to each artist unless they have chosen to donate their work.

Jacklin shares how the auction works.

Organizers say the proceeds will support their programs and cover administrative costs. The auction follows the same successful format as previous years, encouraging the community to collect unique turtle-themed art while supporting local talent.

Jacklin says that these auctions are very helpful for making a difference.

Bidding will take place directly in the event’s Facebook page, where images and descriptions of each piece will be posted throughout the auction.
