Today: Make every coffee count on Alzheimer’s Coffee Day at McDonald’s. For every medium, large or extra-large coffee and McCafé product sold, 50 cents will be donated to the Alzheimer Society, helping support people affected by dementia.
Today: The Wolfe Island Garden Party returns today until the 27th with 10 days of music, art, agriculture and community celebrations. Visitors can enjoy concerts, night markets, sidewalk sales, dance performances, food trucks, buskers and more across the island.
Today & Tomorrow: Kingston’s 194th Fall Fair rolls on with farm animals, culinary creations and plenty of horsepower. Families can enjoy the midway, draft horse pull and Holstein cattle show before revving up for the 7 p.m. demolition derby at Kingston Memorial Centre.
Tomorrow: As the Fall Fair continues into Sunday, Friday night has a special competition! Our own Big G from New Country 98.9 will be hosting the Country Showdown! This will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Amateur country singers from Kingston and the surrounding area compete for cash prizes
LOCAL SPORTS:
The Kingston Frontenacs start off the season TODAY against the Peterborough Petes at 7 p.m.
They will kick off their home opener game this Sunday at 3 p.m.
In football, the Queen's Gaels face the Ravens this Saturday.
In recreational sports, plenty of open spots for a variety of sessions throughout the day
