The money raised goes to the organization's GrowAbility hydroponic greenhouse project
A Kingston organization is hoping to raise some green for their green project.
Extend-A-Family Kingston is hosting a fundraising event called Green4Good outside their facility on Bagot Street on Saturday, June 14th from 1 pm to 5 pm.
Program manager Ian Cholmondeley says people will get to hear some great live music that afternoon.
Chomondeley says the GrowAbility hydroponic greenhouse project serves two purposes: promote local climate sustainability and address food security.
They have an area set up at Extend-A-Care where they grow the food.
Extend-A-Care Kingston is an organization that supports adults with developmental disabilities.
Chomondeley says this project gives their members an opportunity to learn how food is produced and proper maintenance of gardens and fields.
Chomondeley says all the food that is grown is given to food banks and social service agencies in the community.
Tickets for the Green4Good show can be purchased Eventbrite.
