Kingston Police appoint Scott Gee as new Deputy Chief

Most recently served as Chief of Police in Gananoque

The Kingston Police Service Board has announced the appointment of Scott Gee as the new Deputy Chief, starting January 1, 2025.

Gee, who has more than 20 years of experience in law enforcement, will join the leadership team alongside Deputy Chief Matt Funnell. He began his policing career with the Gananoque Police Service in 2003 and has held roles such as Sexual Assault Investigator and Major Case Manager.

Most recently, Gee served as Chief of Police in Gananoque. He is known for his work on community safety and officer training, contributing to policy changes in Ontario.

Kingston Police Chief Scott Fraser said Gee’s experience will help guide the department as it restructures to meet community needs.

Originally from Kingston, Gee is active in several community organizations, including the Kingston Special Olympics. He is married and has two children.

The board said Gee’s appointment reflects their commitment to modernizing the police service.
