The Kingston Downtown BIA is set to host the annual tradition

Downtown Kingston is gearing up for its 20th annual Santa Claus Parade and Tree Lighting this weekend.

Kingston Downtown BIA Events Manager Sandi Griffiths says the celebration improves every year, thanks to a strong community effort.

The parade kicks off with the Partners in Mission Food Bank, encouraging attendees to bring non-perishable food donations to help families in need this holiday season. Griffiths highlights the parade as a chance for the BIA to connect with Kingstonians while ringing in the festive season together.

A crowd favorite, last year’s drone footage of the tree lighting left viewers in awe, making it a must-see moment again this year.

The festivities are made possible by partnerships across the city, with the BIA leading the charge.

The parade begins at 5 p.m. at Innovation Park, traveling along Princess Street to Ontario Street. Arrive early to secure a prime viewing spot!
