Hunger Action Month in Kingston

Partners in Mission Food Bank raises awareness

September is Hunger Action Month led by Feed Ontario and supported by food banks across the province including Kingston's Partners in Mission Foodbank.

Executive Director Dan Irwin says the awareness comes at a welcome time of year.

During the month, you're asked to learn about hunger, support policies for change, and contribute food, funds, or time to food banks.

Irwin appreciates the awareness, adding the need has been great this year.

As of the end of August, the food bank has distributed  13,474 food hampers to 7,635 households.

You can donate to the Partners in Mission Foodbank anytime of year through their website (www.kingstonfoodbank.ca) or by dropping off items or cash at their facility at 140 Hickson Avenue.
