By-election in neighbouring Bay of Quinte riding will elect new MPP

Election called after Todd Smith resigned

A snap by-election takes place today for the Bay of Quinte riding following the resignation of Education Minister Todd Smith after 13 years in provincial politics.  

There is a full slate of candidates. 

Running for the Conservative Party to try to keep the seat blue is current Belleville City Councillor Tyler Allsopp. 

The Liberals also have a Councillor from the Friendly City, Sean Kelly as their candidate. He is also a radio personality in Belleville. 

Lori Borthwick, President of the Bay of Quinte Greens, is stepping up as a candidate, hoping to land the party their third seat at Queen's Park. 

And Amanda Robertson, also a Belleville resident is running in the election for the Ontario NDP.
