SLC’s Graphic Design Graduating Class Hosts Exhibition
St. Lawrence College’s graduating class from the Graphic Design program invites the public to experience their final exhibition, on display in the main foyer of the Kingston Campus from April 17 to 24, 2026. For visitors to SLC’s Open House on Saturday, April 18, it’s a great opportunity to see first-hand what Graphic Design is about, and its connection to community.
“The diverse body of student work covers interaction design, brand identity, digital campaigns, and print media. Each piece reflects the professional skills and creative thinking students have developed over the course of their program,” said Andrea Ruskin, Professor, Graphic Design.
The centrepiece of the exhibition is the students’ Capstone projects. For the projects, each graduating student identified a genuine design problem affecting their community, developed a research strategy, and built a solution. The projects include:
-
Resource information cards for Kingston’s unhoused community — clear, accessible cards connecting people experiencing homelessness with local support services.
-
Accessible teaching material tools — a design system empowering educators to build custom classroom materials that meet accessibility standards.
-
A local business connection app for South Frontenac — a platform helping small businesses in rural communities reach and engage residents.
-
A bird collision awareness campaign — a visually compelling campaign educating homeowners about the impact of window strikes on bird populations and promoting simple deterrent solutions.
