FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Cruise for a Cause to Support EMBER Program for Survivors of Human Trafficking
Kingston, ON — Community members, local businesses, and artists are coming together this June for Cruise for a Cause: An Evening of Art on the Water, a fundraising event supporting the EMBER Program through Victim Services of Kingston and Frontenac.
Taking place Thursday, June 25, 2026 aboard the Island Queen at the Kingston Waterfront, the evening will feature local art, live music, community connection, and fundraising in support of survivors of human trafficking and exploitation.
The EMBER Program was created to address a critical gap in support for survivors after immediate crisis intervention ends. While emergency response services are essential, many survivors continue to face barriers related to safety, housing, trauma recovery, isolation, and long-term stability. EMBER provides coordinated, survivor-centered support focused on healing, connection, and rebuilding life after exploitation.
Funds raised through Cruise for a Cause will directly support EMBER programming and survivor-focused initiatives in the Kingston region.
The organizing team is currently seeking:
Event sponsors
Silent auction donations
In-kind contributions
Local artists interested in contributing artwork
Community members interested in attending and supporting the cause
